NOMINATIONS TO COUNCIL, 2026

Nominations are invited from Members to fill a number of vacancies on the Council, representing the various Constituencies as detailed below.

Members of Council are eligible to hold office for a period of three years, unless otherwise indicated, after which they must retire for a period of one year.

Only Members who are individual members of the Society in their own name may be nominated for Council.

Members may only nominate other Members in their own Constituency, up to the number of vacancies listed.

The signatures of the Proposers and Seconders and the signatures of the Nominees, signifying that they are willing to stand for election, must be appended before Nomination Papers are valid.

Nominations will only be valid if accompanied by the signed Trustee Declaration & Interest Form (pages 2–4).

  • I understand that all members of the Board of Directors of the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society are also charity trustees.
  • I am willing to act as a charity trustee in respect of the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society and, by signing this Trustee Declaration, confirm my understanding of and adherence to the Society’s Articles of Association and Bye-Laws.
  • I am not disqualified from being a charity trustee under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
  • I am a fit and proper person as defined by HMRC and have not been involved in tax fraud or avoidance schemes.
  • I am not disqualified from being a company director.
  • I understand that, upon election, my appointment as a Director of the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society Ltd will require identity verification under the Companies Act 2006 and the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, and I consent to the Society or its authorised agents carrying out any required identity verification.

I make this declaration conscientiously and in good faith, believing the statements above to be true.

I consent to the Society retaining this declaration and related personal data for governance, regulatory, and statutory filing purposes, in accordance with data protection legislation.

I understand that by signing below I am confirming my eligibility and willingness to serve as a Director and Charity Trustee of the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society, and that I will comply with all duties and responsibilities associated with that office.
