The Lisduff Aberdeen-Angus Herd owned by Leo McEnroe, Lisduff, Maghera, Virginia, Co. Cavan will hold their annual production sale of pedigree Aberdeen-Angus breeding bulls at Mid Tipperary Mart, Thurles, Co. Tipperary on Wednesday, April 25th at 12.30pm.
Now in its fifth year, this year’s offering totals at 40 head of stock with 30 black and 10 red bulls catalogued. Bulls range in age from 1 – 2 years old and are bred predominantly from stock bulls including Mogeely Josh M206, Goulding Jim Dandy, Bunlahy Kojack and Lanigan Red Krackerjack. All bulls have been out-wintered through all types of weather conditions and are hardy and not pampered. In addition, all bulls have been semen tested and are ready for work.
The Lisduff Aberdeen-Angus herd is a high health status herd and is also fully accredited with the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF) Gene Ireland Programme. Many of the bulls offered for sale boast exceptional figures, stars and breeding indexes with high scores across both maternal and terminal traits. Many of the bulls also come from proven, easy calving bloodlines with ease of calving figures as low of 0.08%.
