A new history book charting the origins of the Aberdeen-Angus breed right through to its position today as the World’s number one beef breed has been written by British author and podcaster, Andy Frazier, along with two top American cattle historians Dr Bob Hough and Tom Burke. This coffee table style book not only charts the breed’s journey through time in the UK and USA but it is brought to life by over 2000 images, many of which have never been seen before. ‘It is not just a history of Angus cattle,’ says Frazier, ‘but a detailed look at the people and places that were involved in steering the breed over the centuries. You can open it at any page and find something both interesting and educational to everyone. That is what makes it so readable.’ A percentage of the proceeds from the UK sales has been donated to the Aberdeen-Angus Youth Development Program which teaches bovine skills to younger breeders as well as sponsoring the top achievers to travel around the world.
Titled ‘The History of Aberdeen-Angus in the US, UK, and Worldwide,’ more details of the book can be found online at www.angushistorybook.com
