Supreme champion at the 51st Castlewellan Show was Old Glenort Ethan S246 from James Porter’s Gillhall Estate based at Dromore, County Down (pictured above).
This home-bred bull was making his show ring debut at the County Down event. He was born in March 2016, and is by The Moss Quebec. His dam is Old Glenort Edwina – one of 60 cows in the herd.
Claiming the reserve championship was the junior bull class winner Dartrey Viscount Cid T655 bred by Brian Johnston and Hylda Mills, Scarva. This one was sired by Prospect Lord Jake, and is out of Dartrey Very Cool – one of 25 cows in the Dartrey Herd. He was placed second at Armagh and Newry shows.
