Dates for your diary: Irish YDP workshops

17.07.2017

The industry leading Aberdeen-Angus Youth Development Programme will host two workshops in the Republic of Ireland at the end of this month with Mack Crowe & Kathryn Bradshaw, Broomstreet, Mohill, Co. Leitrim hosting the first workshop on July 28th and John & Kate Tait, Westwood, Rostellan, Midleton, Co. Cork hosting the second workshop on July 29th.

A team of top trainers and speakers will be facilitating both sessions, headed up by Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society YDP co-ordinator, Gayle Bersey. The workshops offer youngsters (aged 8 – 24) a unique opportunity to develop and enhance their skills and abilities across a number of disciplines including grooming, stock-judging, halter-making, ring craft and showmanship. All ability levels are catered for and no prior experience or even a farming background is required. Young people involved in other cattle breeds are most welcome on the day too. Aside from the hands-on learning opportunities, cattle demonstrations and practical tutorials, the workshops are a great way to meet other young people with similar interests and promises to be a great social occasion. It’s an event not to be missed and you’re guaranteed to pick up lots of tips and tricks for your future showing endeavours.

All youngsters with any interest in showing cattle or the Aberdeen-Angus breed are encouraged to attend. For more details please contact Gayle on gaylebersey@outlook.com or the Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association office on 071-9632099.
