Following on from their recent win at Devon County Show, Judith and Andrew Denning and family took the top spot at Royal Bath and West Show under judge John Henning of the Drumcorn herd, Northern Ireland.
Sadly numbers were low in the Angus classes at Shepton Mallet, due to the show moving to an additional day and on-going TB restrictions, however, as Mr Henning describes, quality shone through for the senior cow Haughton Justine Erica L012 to take top spot. This January 2011-born Chapelton Eventer E809 daughter is out of the Heath House Plato daughter, Rosemount Justine Erica B296 and was purchased in October last year in Stirling for 7000gns from Whittaker Farms.
“Shown with her third calf at foot her power and presence took her to the top ahead of a stylish and strong two year old heifer – again with a calf at foot”.
Standing reserve was Erica’s herd mate Temple Lolly Pop P582, a Rawburn Double Oseven J985 daughter out of Lockerley Laura D444, an Idvies Jester Eric A057.
