With the festive season approaching and the time of year, accompanied by some horrendous weather, it’s been a quiet week out and about for the Society. There has also been a lot of concentration this week on having the Review 100th edition polished off and in a good place for delivery to members in January. It is proposed that the publication will arrive through letterboxes in the middle of January in plenty of time for the Stirling Bull Sales.
As most of you will be aware, the Council met this week on Tuesday and Wednesday and there was lots of positive conversations about the breed and moving forward in 2018. Between the various committees gathered, many exciting prospects were discussed with a particular focus on the Aberdeen-Angus cow as a great commercial animal and the prospect of a 2018 open day. We look forward to communicating and actioning more of the plans in the near future.
We have also been working hard on the plans for appointing a new Chief Executive for the Society, and the recruitment process has been going well thus far. At present, there are a few t’s to be crossed and i’s to be dotted before finalising an appointment, and we look forward to releasing more details as and when things are finalised.
From all at the Society, have a lovely weekend.
