No stranger to winning form, the senior stock bull Glympton Glespin K470 from Glympton Farms, Woodstock, took the breed championship at the Royal Berkshire Show, Newbury, at the weekend and then went on to take the overall interbreed championship.
This March 2010-born son of Rawburn Rock Solid F544 is out of Glympton Georgina F234, herself a Cardona Edrom B189 daughter. He was champion at the Aberdeen-Angus National Show last year and was interbreed champion at The Three Counties last year as well. He also kicked off his show career again this year by taking the championship at the Royal Welsh in July.
The Glypton team further dominated proceedings by winning the interbreed group with Glympton Glespin K470, Glympton Egan K477 and Glympton Rowena M635, while on the second day of the show, they won the interbreed pairs with Glympton Top Girl N737 and Glympton Bessama N756. It is beleived this is the first time a beef exhibitor at Newbury has clinched both the interbreed pairs and interbreed groups titles.
Reserve int he Angus classes under judge Alaistair Clark of the Duncanziemere herd was Lockerley Hall Farms with the April 2010-born Lockerley Precious Pride K182. This Beeston Predator H114 daughter is out of an Idvies Euris B112 daughter and has been shown successfully for the Lockerley team taking the interbreed at Alresford Show in 2012 as a heifer.
