The inaugural ICBF Replacement Index class was held at Limerick Show over the weekend. This special class was open to all pedigree and non pedigree heifers with a mimumum of 4 stars for recplacement index and attracted an entry of more than 40 top quality heifers from all the major beef breeds who competed for this prestigious award.

The overall winner went to the Aberdeen-Angus breed in the form of the young show heifer Luddenmore Ellen Erica P225 exhibited by Dr Michael and Martin Sheahan, High Park House, Cappawhite, Co. Tipperary. This September 2014 born heifer calf has won a string of red rosettes over the summer.
