Delegates present at the European Angus Forum in Finland last week (Finland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Ireland, Norway, Estonia and Portugal), unanimously elected Portugal to be the host for the 2016 European Angus Forum.
The decision came off the back of all the extraordinary work that has been developed by the Association and Herd Book in recent years. Breeders in Portugal have been importing the best genetics in Europe from countries such as the UK, Ireland and Denmark, in addition to the import of semen and embryos from the rest of the world including US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Speaking after the announcement was made Herd Book secretary Paulo Costa said: “Delegates expressed great desire to visit our herds, but also our country which presents – apart from Aberdeen-Angus cattle – history, cultural heritage, landscapes, sea, good food and wine. We look forward to welcoming as many as possible in 2016.”
