A group of 25 French chefs recently visited the Winfield herd of past President John Coultrip, Faversham, Kent. The tour, which was organised by AHDB Beef and Lamb’s Remi Fourrier, saw the chefs, which between them have a number of Michelin stars to their names, earn more about the importance of grazing for finishing systems and demonstrate the eating quality of native breeds, particularly the Aberdeen-Angus in the UK.
The event took place off the back of the launch of Herdshire Beef, a select range which has been specifically designed for restaurants and carries the AHDB Beef and Lamb Quality Standard Mark (QSM). As part of his work, Remi promotes English beef and lamb to a wide range of audiences in France from supermarkets, large cooperatives, journalists through to chefs. Kent is ideally located to host short trips from France allowing our visitors to see why English beef and lamb is amongst the best in the world.
