The dispersal of the Inkpen herd of pedigree Aberdeen-Angus cattle for the exors of the late M Kary attracted buyers from all over the mainland and from Ireland to compete for some strong bloodlines in the breed.

The herd, established in 2006, from some of the noted cow families from Nightingale and line bred to fashionable bulls enjoyed a sound and hotly contested trade throughout with a top of 3050gns for Inkpen Electra, a fifth calving daughter of Nightingale Davey, in calf to Fordel Parthenon Minotaur. She sold to F McDaid, Luton, Beds. Her February born twin heifer calves sold at 1950gns to Melview Farming, Dymock, Gloucester and 1500gns to A Neish, Warminster, Wiltshire. 

Another fifth calver, Inkpen Miss Brandy, also by Nightingale Davey, enjoyed a strong following and sold for 2350gns to previous buyer A Neish, Wiltshire. Her February-born bull calf sold at 3000gns to G Morgan, Newcastle Emlyn, Ceredigion. 

Inkpen Black Fusia by Idvies Kojack, a second calver then sold for 1920gns to D S Marrriott, North Moreton, Oxon, while her January-born heifer calf traded at 2500gns again to A Neish. The same buyer purchased Inkpen Black Velvet, by Nightingale Ploughman, with heifer calf at foot for 3550gns, as well as Inkpen Black Florrie, a dry cow in calf to Minotaur at 2700gns and an in calf heifer Inkpen Black Fire having been South West Calf Champion in 2014, at 2850gns.
