On Friday the 1st of November our Winter National Show took place at Borderway Agri Expo, Carlisle, where there was a fantastic entry of 120. It was an excellent event and a great advertisement for the breed. Judging on the day was done by John McEnroe from the Liss Aberdeen-Angus Herd.
Champion of the day was Duncanziemere Sportsman V307 from A Clark & Sons, a January 2019 born bull calf by herd sire and reserve Highland Show 2019 Champion Carruthers Grenadier R797 and out of a homebred cow. Sportsman caught judge John McEnroe’s eye on the day, as well being picked out and privately purchased by Messrs N F Massie & Sons from Blelack and Jonathan & Lisa Doyle from the Drumhill herd who both have a 50% share in this exciting bull calf.
Reserve Champion went to team Rettie with Retties Lady Rose U033, this August 2018 born yearling heifer is by Water End Payton N108 and out of homebred cow Retties Lady Rose N271. This yearling heifer stood first in her class, then went on to be Overall Female Champion then Reserve Overall Champion.
