Balmachie clinch native Breedplan top spot at Royal Highland Show

Having stood junior and reserve male champion yesterday, Messrs John Lascelles’ took the top spot in the native Beefbreeder/Breedplan championship this morning under judge and Simmental breeder Michael Robson, Northern Ireland. 

The winner, Balmachie Rodger P190, born September 2014, is by the home bred sire Balmachie Ben Vorlich L105 and is out of Balmachie Rachel K097. 

Standing second in the class was his herd mate, Balmachie Lord Jock R198, again a class winner from the breed section the day before This one is by Ben Vorlich and is out of Balmachie Lady Jane M137.

Meanwhile in the native teams of three today under judge and fellow breeder Victor Wallace, Northern Ireland, the Aberdeen-Angus team came third place. The team consisted of the breed champion Retties Lady Ruth from Donald Rankin, the male and reserve overall champion Fenland My Prize from Gordon Brooke and the reserve female champion Weeton Evora from Stephanie Dick.
