Leading the way at Castlewellan Show under judge Fraser Cormack was Nigel, Gail, Sarah and Sam Matchett with Birches Lady Heather M026. Born January 2012, this one is by Carrigroe Fred and out of the former successful show cow Mogeely Lady Hilda H967. She was shown with her April-born bull calf at foot by Beryl Jamey. 

Meanwhile, in reserve was Woodvale Lady Jane N504 from Alwyn and Carol Armour and Family. This March 2014-born young cow is by Wedderlie Net Profit E916 and out of a home bred Woodvale Mr Awesome E207 daughter. She was shown with her March-born heifer calf at foot by Netherton Amerciano M703. 

In the young handlers section, also judged by Fraser Cormack Matthew Scott won the junior section, while Sam Matchett took top spot in the senior section.
