Black Beauty Bonanza moves to a Friday

Black Beauty Bonanza moves to a Friday

09.02.2015

The Black Beauty Bonanza show of Aberdeen-Angus calves and yearlings will be held at Thainstone Centre on Friday 21st November, with the show starting at 1.00pm followed by the junior showmanship competition in the evening starting at 6.30pm. Competitors in the senior class of the junior showmanship will have all morning to clip and prepare their calves for showing.

It is hoped that the move to a Friday to coincide with the main weekly market day at Thainstone will attract more commercial beef producers to the event to see for themselves the progress the Aberdeen-Angus breed is making in the North-east producing cattle to suit the commercial market.

The judge will be the veteran showman, Jimmy McMillan, Craigmore, Farnell, Brechin, whose had vast experience over many years as a breeder, exhibitor and judge of fatstock cattle and both the Aberdeen-Angus and Charolais breeds.

The junior competition is open to any youngster interested in learning to show cattle and no connection with the Aberdeen-Angus breed is required. The club can arrange to provide an Aberdeen-Angus calf for showing if required. This will be judged by Ian Anderson of Harbro, Inverness.
