The Parke family’s 7-cow Coolermoney Herd made a clean sweep in the Aberdeen-Angus section at the Randox Antrim Show.
Judge Michael Lagan awarded the supreme overall championship to the home-bred heifer Coolermoney Frances T703.This seventeen-month-old entry was sired by Hallington Edition M362, and is bred from the privately purchased Lough Erne Frances ET.
Coolermoney Frances is no stranger to the limelight on the Northern Ireland show circuit, having won the Ulster Provincial Championship at Newry Show a few weeks ago.
She was junior and reserve supreme champion at Balmoral in May, and also secured the breed plaudits at Ballymoney, Ballymena, Limavady, and the reserve title at Omagh. This much-admired heifer dominated the Aberdeen-Angus line-up at Clogher, and went on to claim the reserve interbreed beef honours at the Centenary Show.
Reserve champion at the Randox Antrim Show was herd mate Coolermoney Samson T725. Born in April 2017, he is a son of Cloghogmill Eric R223. This one was best of opposite sex to the champion at the 150th Balmoral Show.
