The Aberdeen-Angus breed was well supported at Border Union Show at the weekend, where judge Paul Westaway of the Melview herd had a strong line up of cattle to judge in beautiful sunshine.

Clinching the male and breed championship honours was Fenland My Prize P001 from the Gordon Brooke Estate. My Prize has had a wonderful summer with wins at Northumberland and the Royal Highland and later on the day went on to be reserve interbreed champion. This bull has subsequently been sold to Felix McDaid for his Donnie herd, based at Luton, Bedfordshire.

Taking the reserve male championship was Kerswater Stirling R202 from Kerswater AA.

The female and reserve overall championship went to Rulesmains Kitty R621 from Andrew Hodge. Shown by Emma Hodge this one was born in January 2016. The reserve female championship went to Linton Gilbertines Rosie P867 from Gordon Brooke Estate.
