Senior bull takes championship at Bandon Show

Leading the way under judge Michael Fox, Co offaly, at Bandon Show on Sunday was Wedderlie Black Box J939 from Albert and Jennifer DeCogan, Killamuckey, Castlemartyr, Co. Cork. Born September 2009, he’s by Abberton Mr Bionic G141 and is out of the Wedderlie Black Boss E950 daughter, Wedderlie Blackness G436 and was originally purchased in Stirling for 7000gns. 

Clinching the female and reserve overall championship was the February 2013-born Shankill Lady Hannah N090, Eustace and Deirdre Burke, Ballyginnane, Carrigaline, Co. Cork. This one is by Cashelane Bart D572 and is out of a home bred Maine Dragon daughter. 

In the junior championships, Knockadrinan Blackman R601 from Co Leitrim-based Tom Reynolds took the top spot, ahead of Westellen Black Beauty P768 from John and Kate Tait, Midleton, Co Cork.
