It is with great sadness that the Society reports the passing of Willie McLaren of the renowned Netherton herd. A stalwart of the Aberdeen-Angus breed for more than 80 years, he was known worldwide for his loyalty, passion and enthusiasm for the breed.

A great supporter of the breed through his years, Willie was one of the pioneers in breed improvement through the late 1970s and 1980s. He was a familiar face at shows and sales the length and breadth of the country keeping the flag flying for Aberdeen-Angus.
