The inaugural Angus Direct Online Bull Sale, organised by the Solway Aberdeen-Angus Club and supported by the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society, met a solid commercial trade, with a top price of 9,400gns and averaging £7,275.

Leading the sale at 9,400gns was Harold Duke Jose A454 from Hodgson & Son. Sired by Rawburn Joel Eric Y844 and out of Harold Duchess Norfolk X230, he combines the prolific Joy Erica and Nicholls Expectation lines with that of the Duchess Norfolk family. Carrying a Terminal Index (TI) of +61 and Self Replacing Index (SRI) of +79, he sold to Karl Scott, Aberdeenshire.

The second top price of 8,200gns also came from Hodgson & Son for Harold Boseman A446. This September 2024-born bull is by Te Mania Nebo N424 and out of Rawburn Bonnie V958. With an SRI of +61 and ranking in the top 1% for IMF, he sold to Mark Runciman, Berwickshire.

A price of 6,800gns was reached twice for two homebred bulls from Kit Acton. The first was Housesteads Prometheus A028, a May 2024-born bull with both his TI and SRI in the top 10%. He is sired by Housesteads Justin Eric X810 and out of Housesteads Prima Y884, selling to Messrs James Biggar, Castle Douglas. Also at 6,800gns was Housesteads Powburn A039, a son of Skaill Donnas Traveler W335 and out of Housesteads Prima R544, with both Indexes in the top 20%. He sold to P A McDonald, Buckinghamshire.

Thrunton Ronaldo A761, a son of Tonley King Paco X812 and out of Thrunton Roxy X457, sold for 6,500gns to T Hall & Son, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Harold Kingsman A026, sired by Rawburn Luxor Y781 and out of Harold Kinannie Y285, realised 5,900gns when selling to the Mansergh family, Cockermouth, Cumbria. Also from the Harold Herd, and selling for 4,900gns to R W Morris & Co, Berwickshire, was Harold Rawhide A021, a 2024-born bull sired by Rawburn Luxor Y781 and out of Rawburn Rosebud V994.
