Announcement from Worcester Mart for the Spring Sale for Aberdeen-Angus scheduled for 4th April 2020

This announcement supersedes yesterday position on holding the sale at Worcester with adjusted conditions.

It is with regret that following consultation with the government this morning the Livestock Auctioneers Association have advised McCartney that the upcoming Pedigree Sale should be cancelled owing to the nature of the sale, unlike Fat stock markets and Store markets where vendors can drop their consignments and go and leave the Mart to sell the cattle to the purchasers. This is deemed to be not possible with Pedigree sales leading to the decision to cancel the sale.

The market have stressed that we should leave the catalogue online and anyone who was going to attend the sale can arrange to purchase bulls privately where appropriate.

The fat stock markets and store markets will remain open and any shortfall in supply we will put out to our members on stock wanted and set up a network to ensure that every opportunity to sell stock for our members is realised and made available.
