The Autumn sale of Pedigree Beef animals was held this year on Friday the 1st of October 2021 at Harrison and Hetherington, Borderway mart at Carlisle. with a disappointing five bulls forward for the sale. This was a repeat of last year but without the Covid situation affecting anything or limiting attendance of buyers or vendors.

Of the five entered only two went to new homes with a top of 2600gns being accepted for Wensleydale Black Western W018, a son of Blelack Ensign L796 taking top spot for Christopher Timm and the other animal sold was from the Retties herd where Retties Perky W098 a March 202 born bull found a new home at 2500gns.

We need to revisit this sale and evaluate if it should continue to be part of our official sales calendar going forward and we will do that at the next meeting of the shows and sales committee meeting.
