The Nightingale Angus Herd is having a major reduction of all saleable stock privately on the farm as a whole or in lots.

Mr William A Robertson has been breeding Angus cattle for 60 years and will be 87 in 5 weeks time.

Over the last 2 years they have reduced the herd considerably, breeding only the very best cows.

They have an outstanding bunch of yearling heifers from Drumhill Lord Hampton whom they consider to be one of the best they have ever used at Nightingale.

They have a great trade in bulls, selling mainly from 12-16 months, off the farm for a steady trade between £4000 and £6000 for 20 – 30 per year. Over the years bulls have sold into pedigree herds for 12,15,20,25 and £35,000.

Only four animals will be retained because of their age.
