Borders Club YDP participants headed to Buccleuch Estates for their regional workshop this summer with some local trainer knowledge and expertise thrown in for good measure.

Leading the team with his reason giving and stock judging knowledge was James Playfair Hannay. James is a massive advice of YDP having seen his doctor Anna go through the programme and prosper and is often heard on a microphone at shows and events commentating, so the youngsters were learning from a very high standard.

Joining us on the day was Sian Sharp of Cheeklaw Angus fame. Sian was at the helm of YDP for some years so knows all to well the importance of the workshops and handled the dressing and ring craft seminars. Meanwhile, Dougie Rennie was on hand with the buckets and hose pipe for the washing element of the workshop and freelance stockman and showman Ashley McInnes took the attendees through the fine art of clipping.
