You may already be aware that farmers in England can now receive funded vet visits for multiple herds or flocks of the same species through the Animal Health and Welfare Review. This funding helps those with multiple groups of cattle, pigs or sheep to access tailored animal health and welfare support.
In case you missed our recent blog post, Defra’s Animal Health and Welfare Pathway team are hosting a free webinar on Tuesday 19 August at 11am to explain how the offer applies for beef and dairy cattle farmers. We’d be grateful for your help in sharing this invite with your members and networks.
In the 1-hour webinar, you’ll hear:
- how both vet visits can help you spot and prevent health issues early – particularly with testing for Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD)
- how to apply and what the funding covers
- how to book your vet visit and claim your payment
- how the optional follow-up visit works – including the PI (persistently infected) hunt.
If you would like to learn more, please do share, sign up and come along! If you can’t make it, you can still send us your questions here for our Animal Health and Welfare expert Chris Maxwell to answer in the webinar. The session will be recorded and made available to watch later on our Webinars in 2025 page.
