The Border Club hosted their annual herd competition with Wallace Donnan touring round the Borders judging herds. 

Winning the stock bull section was Andrew Hodge of the Rulesmains herd with the Tilson family of Wedderlie coming in second and then Borewell of Daniel Whiteford and Co coming in third.

Meanwhile, Wedderlie took the top spot in the best group of three calves with Rulesmains coming in second and Borewell in third. 

Taking top spot in the 2016-born heifer calves was David Lucas of the Cheeklaw herd, while in second was Andre Hodge, Rulesmains and then Wedderlie in third. But the Wedderlie team pulled it out in the bull calf section coming first, helping them to also take the John Swan Cup for the most points in the herd competition. The Kersquarter herd came in second in the bull cables, with Cheeklaw coming third.
